The first piece of art that inspires me is "The Seine at Giverny, Morning Mists" by Claude Monet. This piece of art inspires me because I like how the brush strokes aren't precise or realistic, however, you can still clearly tell what he painted. I also like the use of pastel colors in the painting. This painting relates to my theme of place because it makes you feel a certain way about this place in the painting. It evokes a feeling of serenity and peace.
The second piece of art I was inspired by is called "The Green Bridge II" by Lyonel Feininger. I like that this piece uses abstract shapes to represent people and things but you can still tell what everything is. Is also like the bright colors used in the buildings and the lamps, and how the painting has an erie feeling about it.
The third piece of artwork I was inspired by is called "Landscape" by an unknown artist. What I like about this painting is how the dark foreground contrasts with the pastels in the background. This painting represents place by giving a feeling of adventure that ties in with the place shown in the picture.
The last piece of artwork I was inspired by is called "Landscape" by Gabriel Ludwig Lory. This one is my favorite because I love the medium he uses, which is watercolor. I also like how he uses a blue palette in the whole painting, making it seem like a mysterious place. The perspective from which the painting is from makes it a strong piece.
